ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE To study the extraction and enrichment technology of chrysosplenides A (CA) and I (CI) in Tibetan medicine Chrysosplenium axillare. METHODS HPLC method was used to determine the contents of CA and CI. The orthogonal experiment was used to optimize the extraction technology of CA and CI in C. axillare using total transfer rate of CA and CI as evaluation indexes, with volume fraction of ethanol, extraction temperature, extraction times and solid-liquid ratio as factors. The validation test was also performed. The enrichment technology of CA and CI in C. axillare was optimized using D101 macroporous adsorption resin as adsorbent, total contents of CA and CI as evaluation indexes, with the volume fraction and dosage of eluent for impurities and target components. The validation test was also performed. RESULTS The optimum extraction conditions of CA and CI from C. axillare were as follows: the medicinal powder of C. axillare was extracted by ultrasound at room temperature for 45 min at one time with 8 times of 50% ethanol. Results of validation tests showed that total transfer rate of CA and CI in C. axillare was 95.43% in average (RSD=1.02%, n=3). The optimal enrichment technology was as follows: the sample solution was added into D101 macroporous adsorption resin column and stood for 1 hour; the impurities were eluted with 20% ethanol 4 BV (column volume), and CA and CI were eluted with 50% ethanol 4 BV. The results of validation tests showed that total content of CA and CI was 322.7 mg/g in average (RSD=1.05%, n=3), with average enrichment multiple of 11.61 times. CONCLUSIONS The study has successfully optimized the extraction and enrichment technology of CA and CI from C. axillare, and can provide reference for the development and utilization of CA and CI.

ABSTRACT

C.citratus has been usedin many countries with a long history.Traditionally,it is applied as a food seasoning in cooking. It is also used in tea beverage and folk medicine as well.Modern application of C.citratus is focused on the development of citronella oil, which can be used for food additives, disinfectants, cosmetics, drugs and etc.C.citratus is also a potential plant in landscaping. Its special lemony flavor contains chemical constituents, mainly including citral, myrcene, linalool, geraniol, nerol, citronellol, and etc.The modern research showed that C.citratus had the main effects of anti-microbial,anti-inflammation,analgesia,anti-oxidation,anti-tumor,anti-anxiety,anti-hypertension,antihyperglycemia,and etc. With further studies, some new pharmacological properties of C.citrates are going to be discovered gradually. It is worthy of further research and development to meet the needs of the health industry.

ABSTRACT

Objective To select the components for quality control of Fructus Lycii based on the absorption of its extract. Methods To investigate metabolism of components of Fructus Lycii, everted rat gut sacs was carried out as well as the blood was taken from abdominal aorta,.and all samples were analysised by HPLC. Results There are twelve constituents absorbed between ileum and jejunum of rat , and four constituents were detected in the blood. Compound 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, 10, 11 were absorbed in prototype forms in the intestine directly, and compound 1, 7, 8, 12 were new ones. On the other hand, four compositions(3, 7, 10, 13)could be absorbed into blood through analysis serum samples obtaining from aorta abdominalis of rats. Two of them (3, 10)could be absorbed directly by intestine, while(7)was absorbed into blood in new form . Conclusion Based on the intestinal absorption experiment and analysion of compsition in blood, components (3, 10, 13) can be the quality control ingredients of Fructus Lycii.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate influence of hohstic nursing intervention on psychological state and gastrointestinal function of patients after abdominal operation. Methods 48 patients undergoing abdominal surgery with epidural anesthesia were divided into the intervention group and the control group. Holistic nursing intervention and routine nursing were given to the two groups respectively. Self-rating anxiety scale (SAS) and serf-rating depression scale (SDS) were used to evaluate the psychological state of all patients and gastrointestinal tract function were also measured. The result underwent t test. Results SAS and SDS scores were lower on the fifth day after operation and the time of borborygmus recovery, anal exsufflation and defecation was shorter in the intervention group when compared with those of the control group. Conclusions Hohstic nursing to patients after abdominal surgery can eliminate anxiety and depression and improve recovery of gastrointestinal tract function.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the mechanism of synthesis metabolism intensified by human growth hormone(GH) on the basis of total parenteral nutrition(TPN) for postoperative gastrointestinal carcinoma patients. Methods Totally 94 cases of postoperative gastrointestinal carcinoma patients were randomly divided into TPN group and TPN+GH group. The levels of TNF-?,IL-1,IL-6,CRP were detected on postoperative day 1,3 and 7.Results The levels of TNF-?,IL-1,IL-6,CRP of TPN+GH group were significantly lower than those of TPN group(P

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the feasibility and efficacy of laparoscopic total mesorectal excision(TME) with preservation of anal sphincter for rectal cancer. Methods From October 2001 to March 2004,54(patients) with rectal cancer underwent laparoscopic total mesorectal excision(TME) with preservation of anal sphincter. In 51 of the 54 cases, the operation was completed laparoscopically, including 14 cases of(laparoscopic) anterior resection(AR) with the anastomosis level above the peritoneal reflection;20 cases of laparoscopic low anterior resection(LAR) with the anastomosis level more than 2cm above the dentate line;16 cases of laparoscopic ultralow anterior resection(ULAR) with the level of anastomosis within 2cm of the dentate line;and 2 cases of laparoscopic coloanal anastomosis(CAA) with the level of the anastomosis at or below the dentate line.whereas conversion to an open approach was required in three cases. Results The average operating time was 145 minutes(range 110~210min),and mean operative blood loss was 50 mL(range 30~80mL).Bowel function was restored and diet was resumed at 48 to 36 hours after operation. The average hospital stay was 9 days(range 7~14d).TME was completed successfully in 51 patients.Postoperative analgesics were used in 20 patients. No intraoperative or postoperative complications were(observed).Follow-up time was from 6~36 months in 51 patiebts, and there was no port-site or local tumor recurrence. Conclusions Laparoscopic TME is feasible and safe.It is a perspective technique with the(benefits) of minimally invasive technique and lower blood loss during operation, and rapid recovery.
